Simojoki, a natural salmon river

Simojoki is the only river basin flowing within the borders of Finland with its own naturally increasing salmon population. From a fishing standpoint, the river is very easy to manage and fish due to its open shores and relatively low water levels. Given the size of the river, salmon can be caught in several places almost the entire width of the river. The Simojoki River also has a natural grayling population, and the largest grayling grows up to 50 cm in length. The Simojoki River and the Simojoki estuaries are a natural habitat for prosperous perch and pike.
